Yesterday, Western Cape College proudly celebrated Mabo Day, commemorating Eddie Koiki Mabo and the landmark 1992 High Court decision that recognised Indigenous land rights in Australia.
Our Secondary students and staff came together to enjoy a delicious Kup Murri, with many members of our college community contributing to its success. We extend our sincere thanks to Miss Alice, our Stars and Clontarf staff, the Hospitality team, PCL Coaches Miss Kellie and Miss Roediger, and students Quailian, Monty and Alban for their initiative, dedication and hard work in helping bring the event together.
In the evening, secondary students, staff, families and community members gathered at the Boarding Campus for a special celebration. Thank you to our Boarding staff and students for their outstanding efforts in hosting the event and presenting a meaningful showcase of culture, connection and community. It was a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, reflect on the significance of Mabo Day and celebrate the rich cultures and traditions of our region.
