The Western Cape College Resource Centre is located at the Weipa Campus, and is a modern, accessible learning space for students of all year levels, staff and community. This shared facility for all campuses is a support for learning with a futures focus.  It is open daily for access to physical and online resources, as well as providing classroom, study and meeting spaces.

The Resource Centre aims to be a school and community hub, a resource to support differentiated teaching and learning for all and encourages a love of reading.  It also promotes the life-long learning skill of independent learning through research, information literacy and use of technologies.

Physical Resources

The Resource Centre has an extensive range of physical resources including Junior Fiction, Quarto Fiction, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Junior Non-Fiction, Young Adults, Graphic Novels, Big Books, Teacher Reference and Resources, STEM Resources, Class sets of books, posters, games, Historical Resources, Catalogue Research Desktop, Laptops, Desktop  Computers, Reading Resources and Maps/Globes​

​​​​Ebooks Digital (Sora) Free State Digital Library EQ Login

Uses the popular Overdrive platform and provides staff and students with access to thousands of eBooks to support their learning and love of reading. 

The eBooks Digital Library collection is growing all the time! 

Scootle

 Scootle is a national digital learning repository provided by Education Services Australia (ESA) which gives Australian teachers with access to digital learning items, provided by a wide array of contributors and aligned to core areas of the Australian Curriculum.

Scootle searches can be refined by year level, resource type (such as interactive, video, collection, teacher and text) and learning area.

The ESA website provides access to other national digital learning services such as Scootle Lounge, Student Wellbeing Hub, Digital Technologies Hub and Language Learning.

Clickview

Clickview is a safe platform to avoid copyright on videos. With Clickview, it is easy for teachers to find the right video for any lesson.  Discover Curriculum aligned videos and resources on any topic.  WCC pays this as schoolwide subscription.  Individual students can be added at Teacher request also.​
