Overview
Western Cape College works in deep partnership with the Napranum and Mapoon Local Community Education Boards (LCEBs), recognising that strong educational outcomes are built through genuine collaboration with community. The boards are made up of local community members that bring together local voices to support culturally responsive education to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Our LCEBs play a critical role in the co-design of school priorities, programs and initiatives. This means decisions are not made for community, but with community — ensuring that local voices, cultural knowledge, and community aspirations are embedded in the way our school operates.

The Western Cape College Community Art Commission
The Western Cape College Community Art Commission represents a landmark movement in the College's journey toward a more culturally responsive and collaborative education. Community members were invited to express — through art — a shared theme: "The successful educational journey of a young person from Napranum or Mapoon, shaped by culture and excellence." Nine artworks were created, with two selected by the LCEB to represent Mapoon and Napranum.
