Western Cape College is currently seeking applications from highly motivated persons to provide in-class support and assistance to students across Prep – Year 12 at our Mapoon Primary, Weipa Primary and Weipa Secondary campuses. 

We have a range of positions available, with flexible start dates and hours negotiable based on operational needs and applicant availability.

The successful applicant/s will be required to work closely with a team of teachers, teacher aides, and other professionals to support learning outcomes for our students.​

Science Technician - Weipa 

Western Cape College is currently seeking applications for a Science Technician from a highly motivated person with proven practical skills. This is a temporary part-time position for the 2026 school year, commencing as soon as possible with the possibility of an extension. ​

Science Technicians will contribute to the effective and efficient management of the school science department by providing administration and technical support to the respective Head of Department, teachers and laboratory staff of the school science department.

Transitional Pathways Officer - Weipa & Boarding Campus

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and dynamic Transition Pathways Officer. As the Transition Pathways Officer, you will be providing a broad range of services to maximise the transition outcomes of students at risk of not successfully transitioning from school before the completion of Year 12.

As the Transition Pathways Officer, you will work across campuses. 

  • ​ Weipa Secondary (three days each week) 
  • Boarding Campus (two days each week)

Industry & Vocational Training Officer - Weipa

Western Cape College is seeking a motivated and dynamic Industry Liaison Officer to join the Western Cape College Secondary Student Services team. As the Industry Liaison Officer, you will provide high-level leadership in the coordination and management of the College’s school based apprenticeship and traineeship program, working to maximise vocational education, training and employment opportunities for secondary students.
